Coordinate Geometry: Section Formula

Hi Friends,

This is the third part of the Coordinate Geometry series.
The first part contains Distance Formula.
The second part contains finding Area of triangle through coordinates of vertices of the triangle.
.In this part, we are going to discuss about the section formula used to find the intersection point on a line which is divided in a given ratio.

In the given Figure, the line joining the points (x1, y1) & (x2, y2) is divided by the point (x,y) in the ratio m:n. The coordinates of the point can be calculated by the section formula
